From The Ladies Tee
On February 6 the Trails Ladies Golf Association hosted a Cocktail party to kick off the new season of golf and to lift our spirits. We were excited to meet two guests, Louise Johnson and Kay Dalke. Louise is the Chairperson for the Women’s Oklahoma Golf Association Jr. Girls Golf Championship and for the Women’s Four State Championship. She shared her love of golf and ways for Trails ladies to become involved in supporting the junior girl’s events. Kay Dalke, a USGA Rules Official, motivated us with her love and enthusiasm for learning and using the rules of golf properly. She volunteered to come walk around with us one day this spring to show how to play various rules of golf.
Tammy Higginbotham and Libby Gillett, who are co-chairs for weekly play days, decorated the tables and provided the entertainment with a putting contest. Four women made the playoffs in this cheerful contest: Kathy Hines, Aleta Thayer, Kathy Hess, Tammy Higginbotham. Kathy Hess won the event. What a great way to kick off the golfing season. We now have 25 ladies who have joined and have room for more.

Spring Jr. League Golf RSVP due March 9
All skill levels are encouraged to play!
It is time again to get registered for The Trails spring Jr. League. The OKC area has 18 teams divided into 3 divisions! The courses in our division are Duncan Golf & Tennis Club, Gaillardia, Twin Hills CC and Kickingbird Golf Course.
As you may know, the PGA Jr. League runs through the summer months and is fantastic team golf for 8-13 year old boys and girls. So to keep the progression of these young players growing (or beginning), the area golf professionals got together to expand to spring and fall seasons around the summer. Needless to say, it has been awesome! The spring league matches will run from March through the end of April and include 5 hours of practice instruction.
1. Same age group, 8-13 year olds.
2. Each team will play all the other teams in the division once.
3. Each match will be 3 holes with a point for winning the three hole match.
4. Parents and spectators are welcome and would pay the cart fees at visiting clubs.
The fee is $175 and includes a player gift, golf balls, bag tag, instruction and the matches. Please register by March 9 in The Golf Shop or by calling 360-1920.
