 Jim Hess
Partner and General Manager
PGA Professional

Experience:
Jim Hess is a golf operation professional with more than 30 years of experience in a variety of roles at fine private golf clubs.   Jim served as a Vice President with Golf Enterprises and a Regional Director with American Golf Corporation, the worlds largest owner and opperator of golf facilities worldwide.   A member of the PGA since 1979, Jim returned to The Trails in 2003 to oversee the reorganization and improvements envisioned by the new owners, Norman Golf Partners.

Education:
Jim is a 1979 graduate of The University of Oklahoma’s College of Architecture.

Family:
He lives in The Trails with his wife, Kathy. They have one grown daughter, Kelly.

Alan Hager
Head Golf Professional

Alan joined The Trails professional staff in 2006.   A graduate of Ponca City High School, he has been a Class A Member of the PGA of America since 1996.   Alan was recognized as the “Assistant Golf Professional of the Year” in 2002 by his peers in the South Central Section (Kansas, Oklahoma and Arkansas) of the PGA.  In 2010 Alan was named the "National Titleist Clubfitter" as the top club fitter in the country.   He is a true golf professional who understands the word “service” to the members and works to expand our current golf events and create new activities and lesson programs for our members here at The Trails.

Alan is married to wife Kimberly and together they have three young children, Alayna, Kamden and Keagan. Kimberly is an elementary school teacher in The Norman School System.

 

Kathy Hess
Marketing Director

Experience:
Kathy joined The Trails as Marketing Director in June of 2007 and has been a business partner with The Trails since 2003. Kathy worked for The Hertz Corporation directly out of college, then enjoyed the role of stay-at-home-mom involved in numerous volunteer activities and a home-based Direct Sales business. Most recently, Kathy has been employed with Growing Family and Pediatrix Medical Group, both contractors with Norman Regional Hospital.

Education:
Kathy graduated from Missouri Southern State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration/Marketing and Management.

Family:
Kathy lives in Norman with her husband Jim. They have one grown daughter, Kelly.

Chris Randolph
Club Superintendent

Experience:
Christopher “Chris” Randolph was raised in Vinita, where he learned to love golf at a very early age by playing at the local country club where his grandfather was a long-standing member.

Chris started his golf career as a college intern at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa and then as an assistant superintendent at Cedar Ridge Country Club in Broken Arrow. Several years later, he accepted the superintendent’s position at the Tripp Davis-designed Clary Field Golf Club in Jenks. In 2000, Chris moved to Edmond to serve as superintendent at Oak Tree Golf Club, where he stayed until accepting the superintendent’s position at The Trails, in 2003.

Chris enjoys all the aspects of his challenging position and continues to learn and grow professionally.

Education:
Chris graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Turfgrass Management, after serving in the U.S. Armed Forces for three years.

Family:
Chris lives in Edmond with his son, Carter.

Barbara Pennington
Office Manager

Experience:
Barbara Pennington came to the Trails Golf Club in September of 1986, where she started as the Accounts Receivable Clerk. Promoted to Office Manager in 1991, Barbara has come to call Oklahoma “home,” after living here for more than 30 years.

Education:
Barbara has a Bachelor of Science degree from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo and a Masters degree Animal Science from Oklahoma State University.

Family:
Barbara lives in Norman with her husband, David, and her daughter, Amy.
